For Chef Elsie, fine cuisine runs in the blood. Her grandfather opened the first restaurant right on the Mediterranean in 1942, and the restaurant is still run by the family and caters to discriminating fine food enthusiasts including some very famous such as French President Francois Mitterrand and many others. After years of preparing custom deserts for fine restaurants in New York and teaching cooking classes for the leading culinary retailer, Elsie bowed to repeated requests from students to start her catering business, hence, Splendid cuisine was born.
